Someone recently suggested that I stop doing these “transformation” posts as it takes away from the image of being a “serious athlete”. What do you think? 🧐
I personally don’t believe that my past or my openness to share it defines my potential as an athlete or how seriously I take my training.
I enjoy sharing these before and afters as a fun reminder of how much my life has changed but I also don’t want to be only defined by this “story”. It is simple (not exceptional) which is why I think people like it and can relate. Exchanging cigarettes and booze for a bike: anyone can do that! 🙌 Tue, 12 Feb 2019 12:47:54 +0000
@pedalingheroine : Someone asked me recently how I broke my collarbone.
Fun story: during my first track session with the team in 2017 I stopped pedaling after a full gas sprint. Turns out fixed gear bikes don’t like that. 🤷🏼♀️😂 Never made that mistake again. Fri, 08 Feb 2019 17:24:19 +0000

3.5 hours easy aerobic and when my session says “easy” in the description I take it very seriously. 🐌

Absolutely brutal v02 max session today but I’m happy it’s in the bag. 😁
I know that these types of sessions help me to go harder for longer once we are back on the track. They are not only improving my physical capabilities but teaching me how to suffer! After all, bike racing is really just about who can suffer the best. 😂🤢 Wed, 06 Feb 2019 11:40:20 +0000
